Cybermodel Spotlight:Garret Radivan from Chaturbate

Rasmus Müller talks to cam star Garret Radivan from Chaturbate.

This month’s Cybermodel is 24-year-old cam star Garret Radivan from Chaturbate. Based in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, Garret lives at home with his parents. He broadcasts his live cam shows from inside the family garage, which is where he has set up his cam studio. Garret first got his feet wet working at another cam site, but after one of his friends (fellow chaturbate model StormTrance) told him that he could earn more money at Chaturbate, he decided to give it a try. At the time, Garret and his friend were both living in Tampa, Florida. After his first Chaturbate show, Garrett says that he knew he would never look back. Where did you grow up?
I grew up on a horse farm in rural Northwest Indiana. I enjoyed the openness of the country growing up, but not so much having to travel ten miles to reach the nearest town.

Do you have any fun camming stories you can share?
The first time I ever used an OhMiBod [an interactive vibrating prostate toy that viewers can control remotely by tipping with tokens] I didn’t know what to expect. Halfway through that first show, with the device still planted firmly in place, I stood up to readjust my chair and right then I got a 1,000 token tip. Well, that definitely caused something to start happening with that little device. My legs gave out from under me and I actually fell down! Luckily, the chair was there to cushion my fall.

Ever get unusual cam requests?
Considering that I choose to broadcast from a garage most of the time I’ve had plenty of requests to use things like power tools, lawn care equipment, you name it. One of the more unusual requests that I’ll never forget was the time someone requested that I operate a chainsaw in front of the camera. I’m not sure why, but I guess we all have our fetishes. Since I do broadcast from a garage, it’s often occupied with cars and my BMW is sometimes present. During one of my most memorable shows, I decided to ejaculate all over the hood. It was interesting.

Do you have any advice for aspiring cam models?
Just be you. Everyone has their own unique characteristics. Let your fans see who you are. Don’t take the negative comments to heart. Just ignore them and let your mods deal with those people if it ever happens. Focus on the viewers who want to be there to see you and give those dedicated fans your personalized attention whenever you can.

What was your first cam show like?
I was freshly 18 at the time of my first live broadcast. At the start of my show I was very shy and nervous. I had no idea what to expect or do. So I decided to just be myself on a daily basis. The community was very welcoming and friendly which made the nervousness fade quickly and made the time fly by. I got to meet a bunch of awesome people and I heard some intriguing stories. My first private show lasted 89 minutes, and all we did that entire time was chat. I was having such an awesome time that I didn’t even notice as 5 hours zoomed by. It was fun! In fact, I was fully clothed (With a few flashes here and there to advertise the goods) during my entire first show and I still ended up cashing out with $639 in tokens. I knew I was hooked, and the rest is history.

The best things about being a cam model?
Getting to know your fans and hearing about their lives. Yes, there’s the sexual aspect. But I could go on right now, tell everyone I wasn’t stripping down, and I know I’d still have a very friendly conversation with some awesome people. I’ve made some great friendships along the way. On top of that, Chaturbate is easy to operate.

Most challenging things about cam modeling?
For me, it’s trying to plan, ahead of time, when to go on. I don’t know how many times I’ve decided to do a show, announced it on my Twitter feed, and then had something come up. Sometimes it’s a work emergency, and other times it might be a friend who really needs me, etc. The disappointment I hear from my fans via Twitter messages or during the next show is really hard sometimes. And then, as I’m sure a lot of cammers might say, there’s the constant want and need to keep the shows fresh and interesting.

How does cam modeling fit into your life?
It is a fun part-time job/hobby. My full-time job as manager of a restaurant and bar is very demanding, but I still love camming and want to fit it in to my life.

What are your fans like?
Most of my fans are males who are older than I am. Which comes in mighty handy when you’re having stress in your life and need the advice of someone who is more mature.

Do certain types of viewers make camming more fun?
Viewers that have a great personality, and who can show it through their words on the screen, make the shows more enjoyable. That’s not always easy for a lot of people.

Do viewers ever fall in love with you?
I have had some fans who were definitely more into watching my every movethan others. Overall I would say I’m lucky because no one has ever tried to track me down in real life or anything.

Are you single?
No, I currently have a boyfriend of 8 months. I initially started talking to him via social media. After a week of back and forth I decided I was pretty interested in finding out more. I told him I was going to be in his area that evening doing a promo event for Coors Lite. We made plans to meet up for a drink afterwards and totally hit it off.

How does your boyfriend feel about your cam work?
When I first met him I told him, during the second day of talking to him, so that there would be  no issues with trust or lying. I told him, in a caring way, that he could take it or leave it. Much to my surprise, he didn’t even flinch. He had no issues with it and he wasn’t the type of person to try and change someone else. Since he had never expressed an interest in doing it, I never asked him to join me. But one day he finally asked me why I hadn’t asked him to do a show with me. So now we have.

What traits typically attract you to people?
I’m into people who are outgoing, friendly, and funny. Guys who can hold their own in a conversation and who, most importantly, have a genuine personality.

Something about you that fans probably don’t know?
Honestly (and my friend who got me on to Chaturbate has told me this a few times) I’m too open. I’ve done a show from my restaurant and given them the name before. Things like that. So to answer your question, the only thing I can think of that they may not know is that I have a kind of sixth sense when it comes to spirits. Although I did discuss it on a show before.

What would you like to be doing five years from now?
Opening up my own bar and restaurant with the knowledge I’ve acquired over the years.

Have you ever tried any other jobs besides cam modeling?
Like most, early in life, I tried retail. I was a model for Abercrombie & Fitch, worked in every position in a restaurant, and worked in my dad’s business doing machining, fabrication, welding, etc.

Have you ever jerked off or had sex while at school or work?
I was at my work late one night while messaging back and forth with a friend. I invited him up to the restaurant and, well, you know how that goes.

What’s the most unusual place that you’ve ever had sex?
I was on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale. I had been talking to this guy for a few days. One day we hung out at the beach all day, went out that night, and then to top the night off we took a stroll at 4 a.m. on the beach. So at 4 a.m. on the beach with ocean breeze, water, a hot guy, drunk, and a lifeguard tower that you can get into… That made for a good time! Of course, the excitement of it being 30 ft.  from the road added to the adrenalin rush.

Have you ever done any porn work?
No, I haven’t done any porn work yet, but I’ve had few tempting offers from various studios. I wasn’t able to fit in to my hectic work schedule at the time. But if the price is right, I would definitely consider doing it!

Are you interested in any kind of non-adult performance art?
I’ve done it before, but I’m always open to new possibilities.

What are your favorite hobbies?
I really enjoy jet skis, snow skiing, and snow mobiles.

Do you have any interesting skills or talents?
I was in gymnastics for 8 years. Four of those years I got the opportunity to travel with a team around the nation competing.

Do you have any pets?
Well out here in the middle of the country we have 12 horses, four cats, three dogs, two birds, and two ducks.

Do you watch much TV?
I do when I’m able to take time away from work. A few of my favorite shows are Once Upon a Time, Quantico, Marvels Agents of Shield, Empire, How to Get Away With Murder, and Designated Survivor.

A pivotal life experience?
What comes to mind is growing up seeing how hard my Dad worked. He instilled a great work ethic in me teaching me that you need to work for everything you want as he did. I started at 14 years old bussing tables, moving to serving at 16. I’ve always looked up to my father and want to make him proud!

What are you afraid of?
Spiders and being in the ocean water and not being able to see what was under me.

Have you learned any important life lessons in recent years?
I had decided not to tell a boyfriend I had at the time that I was camming. A previous ex before him decided he thought it was important for him to know and caused me some stress I wasn’t prepared for. Which is why I told my current boyfriend up front. I also believe, strongly, in treating others as you would want to be treated.
