XTube Exposed:What Gay Men Are Watching Most On XTube

Anton Frisk looks at some recent statistics from XTube detailing what types of videos gay men watch the most.

With more than 9.4 million registered members, Xtube is the world’s largest gay tube community. Founded in 2006, Xtube’s massive collection of user-submitted videos now includes over 920,000 gay videos and one million gay images uploaded by more than 18,900 amateurs. Users are free to comment publicly on the videos they view and the site also features a private messaging system, which has helped it to become a true community. On the occasion of Xtube’s tenth anniversary, the Xtube team decided to make use of its rich statistical data on usage patterns to reveal what gay men are watching most across ten different video categories. Below we’ll check out some of the results.

IT’S ALL ABOUT LOCATION
If you want your amateur video to be hot, shoot it in a good location! If you thought tearoom sex had gone out of style thanks to mobile hookup apps like Grindr, think again – because public restrooms are the most popular backdrop for gay Xtube videos. Enthroned in the #1 position you’ll find Understall videos. The list of top locations continues with Car at #2, Hotel at #3, Shower at #4, Gym at #5, Sauna at #6, Outdoor at #7, Bathhouse at #8, Urinal at #9, and bus at #10. Clearly, risky public sex is still hot on the minds of gay men.

MEN OF THE WORLD
When it came to calling out which country’s men were most popular, it was unclear how demographics might have played into the results. But it would seem that Pinoy men are the #1 most watched nationality on XTube, followed by Japanese men at #2, Taiwanese men at #3, Chinese men at #4, German men at #5, Mexican men at #6, French men at #7, Italian men at #8, Chilean men at #9, and Korean men at #10.

PUBLIC FIGURES
Impersonating Public Figures in amateur porn is all the rage these days. And believe it or not, the most watched gay videos in this category are those featuring portrayals of Nicolás Madur, incumbent president of Venezuela. The rest of the list is more eclectic with U.S. football player Robert Malone at #2, MMA fighter Conor Mcgregor at #3, soccer player Ronaldo at #4, actor Jim Parson at #5, actor Neil Patrick Harris at #6, rap artist Drake at #7, actor Wentworth Miller at #8, actress Ellen Page at #9, and presidential candidate Donald Trump at #10.

SPORTING A WOODY
Sports-themed videos featuring all of the related paraphernalia are a gay tradition, but who would have guessed that Wrestling would top the list at #1? The list continues with Soccer at #2, Hockey at #3, Cycling at #4, Baseball at #5, Football at #6, Dancing at #7, Swimming at #8, Basketball at #9, and Racing at #10.

YOU’RE MY FUCKING HERO, DUDE
Believe it or not, superhero fantasies are a thing on Xtube, with Spiderman being the #1 most popular character. The rest of the list reads like a gay comic book fan’s wet dream with Superman at #2, Batman at #3, Thor at #4, The Flash at #5, Deadpool at #6, The Punisher at #7, Magneto at #8, Wolverine at #9, and Blade at #10. It’s all about teamwork!

WORKING IT
Sex at work or school is always a popular fantasy, so Xtube decided to see which jobs were getting the most attention. We never saw it coming, but the #1 spot went to Spies. In second place were Doctors, which made us feel a bit better. The rest of the list included Bikers at #3, Japanese Schoolgirls at #4, Truckers at #5, College Students at #6, Wrestlers at #7, Soldiers at #8, Bodybuilders at #9, and Firefighters at #10.

OVERALL
XTube’s library of gay amateur videos is divided into 29 main categories, but we never would have guessed that some of these were so popular. Some of these must be related to regional demographics, but we’ll let you decide. Apparently the #1 most popular category among gay men is Pinoy men. At #2 is the more generic category known simply as “Gay.” The list then continues with Japanese at #3, Public at #4, Gloryhole at #5, Piss at #6, Crossdresser at #7, Chub at #8, Bareback at #9, and Poppers at #10. Who knew?
