Pettie Larsons gives us the lowdown on male, mainstream celebrities who self-identify as bisexual.
For a long time, homosexuality was taboo in mainstream Hollywood. Bisexuality, on the other hand, was often tolerated a bit more readily. As a result, there were quite a few openly bisexual celebrities even back in Hollywood’s glory days. One of the most well known examples was Marlon Brando, who once said, “Like a large number of men, I, too, have had homosexual experiences and I am not ashamed. I have never paid much attention to what people think about me.” Other Hollywood legends believed to have been bisexual include Montgomery Clift, Farley Granger, Greta Garbo, James Dean, Sal Mineo, and Marilyn Monroe – just to name a few.
Hollywood’s current lineup of openly bisexual celebs includes dozens of men and women. Lady Gaga and Angelie Jolie are two of the most famous examples, but there are many others – and you can check out a comprehensive list at Bisexual.org. This month we’ll take a look at some examples from both Hollywood and the music world, with images courtesy of Male Celebrities.

I think everybody kind of fantasizes about the same sex. I think people are born bisexual, and it’s just that our parents and society kind of veer us off into this feeling of ‘Oh, I can’t.’ They say it’s taboo. It’s ingrained in our heads that it’s bad, when it’s not bad at all.
