Meet Derek Atlas from RentHotAngels.com. The stunningly handsome 28-year-old studied Psychology in college and his first job was at a gym in upstate New York owned by his family. Derek left that job to become a mainstream model, finding success in both print and runway modeling. After a year of that, he also began doing adult work. What did you study in college?
I studied Psychology, with a focus on sex and drug counseling – so I’m truly a professional when it comes to fucking and partying. [smiles]

Best things about escorting?
I love meeting new people and I certainly have a kinky side, which makes me perfect for this type of work. I’ve been told more than once that I like my job a little too much.

Downsides to escorting?
There is always a legal component to this job.  There’s a legal way to do it, and an illegal way.  I understand the difference, but unfortunately some clients do not.  Other than that, I’ve had a pretty smooth ride since day one.  I’ve met some good people along the way and some of my clients have become good friends over the years.

When will you stop escorting?
I’ve been saying that I’m going to phase myself out of the industry for a couple of years.  For one reason or another though, I just keep doing better and staying in demand. I suppose I’ll be doing this for as long as the industry allows.  In the meantime, I’ve been building a pretty comfortable way of life for myself here in Las Vegas. And, when it’s time to hang my hat, I’ll have a few options to fall back on.

How would your friends describe you?
Cocky (in a humble way), down to earth, laid back, and a little too witty.

As a kid, what did you want to be?
A porn star, of course!  Just kidding.  I’m not really sure what I wanted to be. Probably a musician. I’ve played guitar most of my life.

Life lessons from past 5 years?
I think I’ve learned a lot about people.  How different they can be.  And yet everyone has the same basic needs, with companionship being one of the most important of those needs.

What other jobs have you tried?
I was the general manager of a fitness company, and I worked for a few years as a commercial plumber.

Where did you grow up?
I’m from upstate NY, near the capital, and that’s where I grew up.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?
I have one brother and 3 sisters.

Does your family know about your escorting work?
Everyone in my life knows what I do for a living and nobody has a problem with it. I’ve always been an upfront and honest person, and I’ve never tried to live a double life.

Have you done much traveling?
I’ve traveled much of the world.  Two of favorite places that I’d like to return to are St Bart’s in the French West Indies and Marrakech in Morocco.

What’s a typical weekday like for you?
I keep a full schedule every week, and I work nearly every day.  I’m in the studio shooting videos a few times a month, and I have 5-10 clients a week.  I wake up every morning and spend the first hour or so drinking coffee, answering emails, and going through text messages.

Your favorite hobbies?
I spend a lot of time at the gym, but it’s more of a lifestyle than a hobby.  And I spend a lot of time with my dog.  I have a Chihuahua and she’s a little bit high maintenance.

Did you ever do anything as a kid that got you into trouble?
We partied a lot growing up, but  out of proportion to what most kids were doing.

What kind of men are you usually attracted to?
The ones with lots of money. (Laughs.)  Just kidding. Mostly. I like to talk a lot, so personality is important. I like to have fun, so he’d better know how to have fun as well.

Your first sex partner?
My first partner was my babysitter. Apparently my mother thought I still needed a baby sitter at 14 years of age,  so she hired the 17-year-old girl down the street.  Bad move, Mom.

Your life five years from now?
Five years from now, I expect that things won’t be too much different from how they are now.  Hopefully there will still be a demand for some Derek Atlas in peoples lives!

Long-term aspirations or dreams?
A little house on the prairie someday.

Who do you admire and why?
I admire everyone in this industry. It’s not always an easy job, but it’s a valuable one.
