Before the Internet and search engines came along to shake things up in the gay porn industry, adult DVD distributors usually acted as the gatekeepers for international porn – and they generally passed on anything that couldn’t be obtained at a dirt cheap price and then resold to consumers at a high markup. Thankfully, that unhealthy system was turned on its head when the worldwide web and broadband internet access made it possible for consumers and international porn producers to conduct business directly. We now have access to more international porn content than ever before – and this month we’ll take a look at just a small sample of what’s available from content producers outside North America.

AFRICA
You can check out porn videos featuring some of South Africa’s beautiful landscapes and men at TLA Video. South Africa is the African nation most often associated with gay porn production, although at least one title has been produced in the Central African Republic. South Africa’s post-apartheid constitution made it the first nation in the world to outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation – and the fifth to legalize gay marriage. However, LGBT South Africans still face significant homophobia, social stigma, and even violence (plus high rates of HIV/AIDS infection.) In 2009, director Ross Williams founded Liberate Studios – the first gay porn studio based in South Africa. In 2009 Williams directed several titles that were jointly released with Eurocreme and AlphaMale. Then in 2010 Liberate Studios released a self-branded title called Cape Town Sun Fuckers.

ASIA
You can find DVD’s featuring men from all over Asia at TLA video. For online membership sites dedicated to Asian men, check out our article from June called Go East Young Man. However, the quality of the Asian porn content available in the United States can run the gamut. This is surprising, since there’s definitely a thriving gay porn industry in Asia.

Despite the fact that Wikipedia’s list of international gay porn studios only lists five in Japan (and none having links or Wikipedia entries) there are actually dozens of Japanese gay porn studios producing softcore, hardcore, bareback, fetish, and reality porn – and there are many popular porn series, too, At import sites like Rainbow-Shoppers.com you can order a large number of new and recently released gay porn DVD’s directly from Japan. Most of the Japanese studios have official websites, too. For example, there’s Justice01.com, Ejiki.com, Club-Cheeks.com, Bpro.info, and BeardProject.com. KO Company even offers an english language tube site/video-on-demand service. DVD’s from Japan are censored (pixellation over genitals) but it has become much less prominent in recent years. Surprisingly, it doesn’t actually take away from the overall experience as much as you might think.

It’s illegal to produce and sell porn DVD’s in South Korea, and thousands of people have been arrested for posting porn to the web during large-scale crackdowns. That said, there’s usually no penalty for finding and watching web porn at home. South Korea is pretty good at blocking porn content, thanks to hundreds of volunteer Nuri Cops (aka Net Cops) who trawl the web for new porn sites to block. Outside Korea, you can sometimes find Korean gay porn clips on tube sites like Xtube.com. At TheGayKorean.Tumblr.com and KoreanSexGods.Tumblr.com you’ll find nice collections of G-rated (but erotic) glamour shots of sexy Korean models. If you’d like to see porn videos featuring guys from India, the best place to look is on amateur video sharing sites, Tumblr pages, and pages that archive videos featuring Indian men such as IndianGaySex.com and ImageFap.

AUSTRALIA
A number of porn producers in Australia have finally begun fetishizing the men from Down Under. Considering how successful they’ve become, it’s surprising that we haven’t seen a lot more Australian-themed sites being launched. Luckily, the ones that we have are all top notch.

AllAustralianBoys.com
This former Cybersocket Web Award winner is the biggest and most popular gay porn site in Australia. All Australian Boys has introduced the world to more than 600 hot Australian jocks and offers an enormous collection of original, exclusive videos and photo galleries. Most of the guys on the site have never done any modeling or porn work before, and they are recruited right off of playing fields and beaches by the site’s photographer.

AmateursDoIt.com
This site features all amateur models and scenes that are filmed from start to finish without any editing. It’s the real deal, and they persuade new guys to take the plunge into amateur porn every single week. Most of the scenes feature hardcore action and there are lots of threeways and group scenes.

BentleyRace.com
Bentley Race features hundreds of hot Australian Boys in exclusive, original action scenes. The site has a unique sense of style and has recently expanded to include some non-Australian guys. The photographer has been traveling throughout Europe, posting videos of the hot guys he encounters in each new city. Thanks to the behind-the-scenes clips at Bentley Race, the site’s cute photographer has become a bit of a sensation in his own right – which helps to explain how he has always been able to recruit  such attractive models.

EUROPE
Europe is responsible for a lot of the world’s gay porn content and numerous countries are now active production hubs. Some of the biggest and best known gay porn centers in Europe include the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Slovakia.

From The Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is home to a number of studios and websites. There’s the aptly named CzechHunter.com, which features cute young amateur models in well-produced hardcore scenes. EastBoys.com specializes in Eastern European boys overall, but is based in the Czech Republic. Staxus.com also  has much of its production work based in the Czech Republic.

From France
France is home to numerous gay porn studios and websites, including the official website of the late Jean-Daniel Cadinot. Citebeur.net, known for its videos of urban boys from France and men from all over the world (including Arab men) is based in Paris. A promising site which recently launched called Menoboy.com is based in France, too –  as are companies such as Clair Production, Comme Des Anges, CrunchBoy, EricVideos.com, Pornautes, and Ursus Video.

From Germany
Like France, Germany is home to quite a few gay porn studios and websites. Some examples that have gained worldwide popularity include BerlinMale.com and CazzoClub.com. Also based in Germany are HammerEntertainment.net, Sk8erboy.eu, and WurstFilm.com (some of whose films are available from Dark Alley).

From Italy
One of the industry’s most well known and respected European porn studios is LucasKazan.com. The acclaimed director has filmed men from all over Europe, but his studio is based in Italy and he regularly features Italian models.

From the Netherlands
Staxus.com is Europe’s largest gay porn studio. As a business entity, Staxus is located in the Netherlands. However, they have offices in both London and Prague and they work with content producers in various parts of Europe. In Prague and London, they partner with AVI Productions. Originally Staxus was a part of Eurocreme, but in 2008 the two divisions became completely separate.

From Slovakia
BelAmiOnline.com, one of the world’s best know gay porn studios, is located in Slovakia. The studio has filmed in many different countries and has occasionally used models from the United States, but most of the models are Slovak, Hungarian, and Czech.

From Spain
In recent years, Spain has become a growing hub of gay porn production thanks to studios such as JalifStudio.com and Staghomme.com. In addition, Spain is now home to Tim Kruger, the creator of TimTales.com.

From the U.K.
The UK is one of the most popular places in Europe for gay porn production. Some sites have even built themselves around fetishizing British men, such as BlakeMason.com, EnglishLads.com, and UKNakedMen.com. In addition, the U.K. is home to Eurocreme.com. Founded by CEO Max Lincoln in 2002, Eurocreme is one of Europe’s largest producers of gay porn content.

The U.K. is also the birthplace of famous gay porn director Kristen Bjorn. His videos are renowned for their high quality and for featuring men from Brazil, Australia, and Europe. Bjorn is known for taking up residence in other countries for extended periods of time while filming and photographing local men.

London is home to Menatplay.com, one of England’s most popular gay porn exports during the last decade. Menatplay kickstarted the suit-and-tie porn genre and their work has been emulated by studios around the world. Today Menatplay  has also branched out into other genres.

SOUTH AMERICA
