A chat with this month’s cover model, Tomas Brand from Menatplay

The kingdom of Sweden has given us a lot of good stuff, including everything from Abba and Ikea to Pippi Longstocking, Henning Mankell, Alexander Skarsgård, and the Nobel Prize. Now, thanks to Cybersocket Cover model Tomas Brand (and his sexy husband Logan Rogue) from Menatplay.com, we can also add “hunky gay pornstars” to that list.

Tomas Brand is a native of Gävle, a town in northern Sweden that is home to the country’s most successful hockey team, Brynäs IF.  Internationally, Gävle is perhaps best known for its unique Christmas traditions. Every year, a giant Yule Goat made of straw is erected, just in time for Advent. Then, a few days later, someone invariably burns it down. In the past 40 years, the Gävle Goat has been set on fire at least 28 times. The Godzilla-sized wretch has also been kicked to pieces and subjected to an almost humorous litany of indignities. Like a phoenix rising from the Gävle Goat’s ashes, Tomas finished high school and then went on to study real estate economics in college. He moved to Stockholm at the age of 22, and since finishing his education he has worked as a full-time economist. In addition, Tomas has also done both runway and print modeling. Recently we had a chance to ask Tomas a little bit more about his life and his porn work.

How did you get started in adult entertainment?
Steve Cruz at Falcon/Raging Stallion sent me a message on DudesNude.com in March 2012 to ask if I was interested in working for them. I had received inquiries in the past and had always said no, but Steve managed to convince me. My husband Logan Rogue and I had fantasized about doing porn and if felt like the right time to try it. In July, Steve flew Logan and I out to San Francisco. My first movie was The Woods and my scene partner in that one was Trenton Ducati.

Did you enjoy working with Menatplay?
Adrian, Andy, and the staff at Menatplay are all amazing and I always have a good time. They make it easy for me, and I like their attention to detail on the set. They take good care of their models and  I really enjoy working for them. Logan and I have done some great scenes together for Menatplay, but my favorite by far was Nasty Boys 2.



Has your adult work created any relationship challenges?
I don’t think so. We both work with a lot of nice, hot guys – but we know that we’re meant for each other  and I think our love has become even stronger since we started doing porn. Logan is my security in life. We’re always open about everything, and we talk about the experiences we have when we’re away from each other. Apart from that, doing porn allows us to live out our fantasies – and seeing Logan working with other guys is a big turn-on for me.



What kind of diet and fitness regime do you follow?
Nothing special. I try to eat healthy foods, but I’m not following any special diet. To be honest, I eat too much candy and Logan always tries to tell me to cut down. Luckily, I seem to have a good metabolism. In terms of exercise, I work out 5-6 times a week. I don’t have a set routine – I just do what I feel like at the gym.

Did you and your husband Logan Rogue start performing at the same time?
Yes. I asked the studio if they were also interested in working with my husband, and they were. 

What has been your impression of the industry so far?
I have only good stuff to say about it so far. The companies I’ve working with have all been very professional.

How did you get involved with Menatplay?
I had seen a lot of Menatplay videos and men in suits were a turn-on for me, so I sent them an application last year. I was very happy when they replied and asked me to work for them.

What type of work did you do before adult entertainment?
I still have my full-time job, so I only do adult entertainment when I have the time. I want to keep the adult work as just a sideline and something that I do for fun. I have also done both runway and print modeling in the past.

Was doing scenes together something that you and Logan actively sought out?
Not really. It just kind of happened. I think a lot of people are interested in seeing real-life couples because of their natural chemistry together. When you watch our scenes, you know that the passion is real – and I think people like that. And even if we’re not working together, we still prefer to travel together whenever we can.

Where do you live now?
I still live in Sweden, which means I have to travel a lot – but travel is something that Logan and I both enjoy.

How does life in Sweden compare to life in the U.K.?
Life in Sweden is more calm and quiet, which I like a lot. But guys in the U.K. are more open and less afraid to come up and talk to you. Swedish people are more reserved.

What was it like working at Hustlaball Brussels with Logan?
It was the first time we had done a big event like that, but we loved it. Being on stage in front of the crowd was so much fun. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other guys from the business and the setting is a lot more relaxed than a film set. We’ve also been invited to perform at Hustlaball London at the end of June and we’re really looking forward to it.

What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and working with Logan on our home. I’m also a sports fanatic.

Have you participated in any sports?
When I was young, I did a lot of horseback riding and downhill skiing. I also played ice hockey and soccer until I was 38, which is why I have a muscular ass. People usually comment on it, but the truth is that I don’t even train it much at the gym. Apart from that, I’ve also played a bit of tennis and golf.

How does it feel to have over 8,000 followers on Twitter? 
To be honest, I’m so surprised – and glad that I opened my twitter account. I opened it in December 2012 and I now have over 8,000 followers who support me and write so many nice things about me. I’m so grateful for that. I try to share as much I can on Twitter, and I try to reply to direct messages.
