Presenting gay porn in an episodic format online is a trend that has gained a lot of momentum in the past two years. Releasing episodes one at a time can sometimes give studios and websites more room to experiment, and it also keeps fans coming back on a regular basis. In addition, presenting related scenes as a web series allows studios to gauge their popularity before committing to a DVD release. Back in 2004, Jet Set Men was already experimenting with episodic porn in their critically acclaimed gay porn soap opera Wet Palms. Nine one-hour episodes were produced, and the series was still popular when it ceased production due to scheduling conflicts with stars and a soaring budget.  Websites like Cocky Boys and NakedSword have since gone on to score big hits with their own web series, which has inspired even more studios to explore the format. This month we’ll look at just a handful of the recent web series released by a number of popular porn sites.

The last time we were treated to a web series from Randy Blue was about three years ago, but now the studio has returned to the genre with a bang. The new web series from Randy Blue is called Welcome to L.A. and each episode will highlight a different neighborhood in Los Angeles. It’s a bit like a gay porn version of the late Huell Howser’s PBS series California’s Gold, but with facial cumshots. The new series debuted on Friday, September 20th with Welcome to L.A.: Hollywood – a sizzling poolside seduction scene starring Justin Owen and Diego Sans. Further episodes will release periodically all the way through November, based around neighborhoods such as Silverlake, Burbank, Venice, Beverly Hills, Downtown, Compton, West Hollywood, and UCLA.
