Ogunquit
Known as Algonquit, Agunquit or Ogonquit by the Abenaki Indians. The native Americans would spend summers on Ogunquit Beach, now you can too! Ogunquit means Beautiful Place by The Sea in the language of the Algonquin Indians. It has been called "the most walkable community in Maine" because of its 3 miles of white sandy beach, and the famous Marginal Way, a 1 1/4 mile walking path connecting Ogunquit center and Perkins Cove, a miniature turn of the century fishing village.
